WEST SEATTLE WEATHER: First area power outage of note

10:51 AM: Thanks to KT for the tip. 223 :customers are out on the south side of Roxbury from roughly 20th to 27th; KT reports the 26th/Roxbury light is out. According to the City Light power-outage map, this started about half an hour ago; no listed cause yet, but that coincided with a burst of strong wind. It’s the only sizable outage so far in the city.

12:53 PM: Restored.

Power just came back on and kudos to everyone obeying the four way stop rule at the light.

I just left the Roxbury Safeway and they still have no access for customers to chilled or frozen items.  1:45

That is because there is a food safety protocol for any frozen and or chilled food just in case there might spoilage.

Just sucks this happens on Cheap Cheap Monday. I was scrambling for dinner plans because of this. It would be super nice if Safeway moved it to tomorrow just this once.

Perfect timing to force everyone to change their clocks.

Full power to Safeway was not restored until about 8:17pm tonight…..it pains me to think of all the refridgerated items that will have to be thrown out after only about 8.5 hrs….  :-(Thanks to SDOT for working hard to get the power back on.

Sorry, comment time is over.
