WEST SEATTLE CRIME WATCH: Gunfire near Lincoln Park

Police dispatched after 911 callers reported hearing gunfire in the Lincoln Park vicinity Saturday night confirmed it. The reports came in around 11 pm. Officers told dispatch they had found at least one casing; a nearby resident reports that police found at least five (in the street on Fauntleroy Way, radio exchanges indicate). No injuries reported.

I heard those shots when I went out to my car. 5 quick in a row coming exactly northeast of our location about 1/2 mile away. There was no hesitation between shots so it sounds like a scofflaw(s) recklessly shooting into the air for thrills.

We live a couple blocks up the hill from the park, just north of the north parking lot.  Our open bedroom window faces in the direction of the north parking lot.  I heard 5 distinct, but closely spaced, shots, at 11:05 AM.

Do you have details on the approximate cross streets where the gunfire occurred?

Somewhere around/between SW Monroe Street and SW Kenyon Street.  In my original post I meant to add that they did not sound as if they were in the park as the shots on May 27th did.  I think these emanated from the Fauntleroy right-of-way.

Our open window faces Fauntleroy and we definitely heard 3 shots, then a pause (in which we said “were those gunshots?!”), and then about 5 more shots. Not sure if that was in response to the first 3 shots or what. Just glad none of them seem to have hit any of the homes along Fauntleroy!

There were two rounds of multiple shots. And then a number of cars racing back-and-forth down and up Fauntleroy. And yeah, right in front of our houses between Kenyon and Monroe.

Sorry, comment time is over.
