BUSES: Sound Transit proposes Route 560 change

Sound Transit is circulating its proposed 2022 service changes for comment, and there’s one change proposed for ST Express Route 560, which runs between West Seattle, Sea-Tac, and Bellevue: Weekend daytime service would increase from every hour to every half-hour. That’s the only proposed change that would directly affect West Seattle, but it’s one of many systemwide. You can review them all and comment via this website, or by email at servicechanges@soundtransit.org; deadline for comments is August 22nd. ST also plans an online open house at 6 pm August 11th (register here) and public hearing at 11 am August 12th (register here). This is just for its current light-rail and bus service, not future projects such as West Seattle light rail (here’s the latest on that).

One Correction: this is Sound Transit Route 560 (not 160 as stated in the body text).

      Fixed.

That bus is so awesome for going to the airport. It gets there almost as fast as driving.

The 560 is a quick and affordable option of getting to Sea Tac Airport from West Seattle, glad to see it’s not going away.

Didn’t the SeaTac to WS leg get cancelled a few years back. When did it get reinstated? I used to take it to the airport all the time.

This is good news. The 560 is an easy and cheap way to get to the airport.

Glad to hear the 560 is convenient for getting to SeaTac Airport.  Is it just as timely and easy to take it back to West Seattle?

Yes, as long as your schedule coincides with the 560’s hours of operation.

its true that route 560 should defintly increase 30 minutes on sat/sun cuz its more better to make connection and more better for west seattle/burien and renton residents!

I am curious when they cancel or add bus routes if the mandate for parking changes as well for housing units?  I see nothing but yellow bags over several runs in West Seattle. If they are shut down, does the zoning change or the mandate for parking spaces?

You can also take the 50 to Lander and transfer to light rail to the airport.  Cheap and fast.

Yes, this 50 to Light Rail manoeuver is key for those of us in the Junction wanting to get to the airport ever since they cut us off from the 560. The C Line to Westwood isn’t a terrible transfer to the 560 but it’s just as easy to transfer to Light Rail at Lander.

I’ve also taken the 128 to International Blvd/Tukwila Light Rail, then you’re just one light rail stop to the airport. It’s not fast, or frequent, but it is closer to me than the 50.

Sorry, comment time is over.
