Thanks to Ben for sharing Denny International Middle School‘s Staff Appreciation Week video, so the wider community can see it too. It starts with a message from Denny principal Jeff Clark, and continues with other staffers and a student too.
Both my kids are former Denny scholars. I can say firsthand, Denny staff are truly amazing! I’m so glad my kids were able to experience all of the love, care and hardwork the staff put into making the school a great experience. These experiences have contributed to the success (socially, emotionally and academically) both my kids are having at Chief Sealth. Thank you Denny Staff…and a thank you to Mr. Clark who does a great job an took the time/effort to recognize his staff! My family appreciates ALL of you!

Speaking as a parent, one of the hardest parts about the school closures is that my student gets even less time at Denny. Time there already felt precious! The staff and teachers show so much love and concern for young people, and do everything they can to make the community a positive, empowering space for all kids. At 6th grade orientation, two yesterday ago now, I remember an aha! moment when Mr Clark told families that Denny staff is dedicated to taking care of the transition of our students from elementary school to high school. High school felt a million miles away, but in that moment, I realized middle school is a short time for a giant transition. Denny staff have kept their promise and have worked closely with my child to grow into responsibility, to develop a love for learning, and to develop a stronger sense of self and confidence. Thank you, Denny staff and teachers! And Mr. Flavors, we’re loving the quarantine beard!
Thanks for posting this, WSB! Our son is in eighth grade at Denny and we are so thankful for his dedicated teachers: Having consistent communication and meetings and Schoology updates is really helping our son stay on track during this difficult time. Thank you, Mr. Clark and all of the amazing teachers and staff at Denny! I too love the quarantine beard, Mr. Flavors, and it’s wonderful to see you, Joy!
