Passengers aboard a RapidRide C-Line bus are reporting possible injuries after a collision at 35th/Avalon, No visual so far but police say they’re blocking eastbound Avalon at the scene, and they’re looking for a hit-run driver who might have caused the crash, possibly after leaving an apartment/condo garage nearby.
My gf just called me from swedish apparently suffering a neck injury from the incident. Hoping its not too serious im about to try to go there now to see if they will let me see her
Treacherous intersection! But then again, most intersections seem dangerous these days the way some folks “beat” the light. I don’t know if that’s what happened here and I know it isn’t the answer for all intersections, but how about we invest in more cameras at intersections with traffic lights to create accountability for folks who run lights?
Too much legal wiggle room. You can just say, “It wasn’t me driving,” and voila, no fine! The law needs to be changed to hold the registered owner liable, period. Then IF someone else was driving, they can sort it out themselves. Like maybe not loaning the car to an irresponsible driver.
I’m for traffic cameras everywhere, but I’m seeing more cars every day that don’t have front plates (or sometimes rear). This is just one more traffic violation that is not enforced – and needs to be.
Anonyme…I have seen numerous cars without back plates in the past 30 days or so. The cars that I have seen without back plates are beaters, some with damage, and a few newer models with all darkened windows. What is going on?
No, I was going to go over to the scene and then I heard police tell dispatch “the coach (bus) is trying to leave,” so it appeared to be clearing. I plan to ask Metro on Monday.
