The general advice on discolored water is “yes,” but please call SPU if you have concerns – 206-386-1800 – to hear it from them directly.
July 16, 2019 = I reported a water main break about a block north on California Avenue SW. And, FWIW – that emergency patch job is starting to erode.
We had a brown water issue in my neighborhood about a month ago. One thing that stood out to me aside from what WSB always relates, per SPU’s suggestion, as they did above, is that one SPU employee I talked to on the phone cautioned against doing laundry with brown water, as it can permanently damage clothes, etc, to where they’d need to be discarded. Also, keep in mind, you may still experience brown hot water, from what is in your hot water tank, even after the cold water pipes have fully flushed and returned to clear water. —Mike
