Wow, they removed their license plates,, driver eating total disregard, no fear of accountability. , as a community need to demand that when theses kind of crimes are caught there is some form of punishment.  Occurred during the day since it was light out, just amazing kind of people

    • Marianne December 9, 2018 (10:32 am)

Doesn’t look like the driver is eating to me-looks like snorting.  Is that the handle of a car seat next to the back seat passenger?

    • uncle loco December 9, 2018 (10:55 am)

Driver wasn’t eating, he was smoking something- probably meth- you can see that he heats up the tin foil and uses a straw or something. I’ve been ripped off a few times in the past 10 months by a vehicle matching this description.  The one time that the cops showed up I found some kind of plastic straw/pipe thing with burn marks that was left behind. The cop took it as evidence.

      • Paul Symington December 9, 2018 (3:35 pm)

wait did you say plastic straw… OH HELL NO

        • uncle loco December 9, 2018 (4:45 pm)

I’m not sure what you’re getting at but yeah it was some sort of plastic smoking device. If you watch the video he doesn’t hold the flame directly to to the pipe but just burns his dope on the foil and inhales the smoke through it. Considering the toxic garbage they’re smoking, I doubt inhaling a little bit of melted plastic would concern them.

          Ha! Too funny

    • Paul Symington December 9, 2018 (1:08 pm)

      Keep voting Democrat.

      • Elle Nell December 10, 2018 (8:28 am)

Hey Paul — now that’s intelligent..!

  • Chris December 9, 2018 (7:13 am)

There is certainly a very clear picture of the person in the back seat, especially as she blows smoke out the window.   For those that know how to screen grab, perfect picture.    Almost looks like can see the driver too.   What a great deal this neighborhood has with all the cameras.   Hopefully catch these people.

  • Had Enough December 9, 2018 (9:21 am)

Hey NeighborsIf you see this SUV, Take a picture of the license plate and give it to the police.

  • Neighbor December 9, 2018 (9:54 am)

Last week that same car and woman were parked at the junction next to Key Bank. I made note of it because it was obvious she was searching for a fix while her male companion waited in the car.  I almost called in a suspicious person alert to the police….now I wish I had.

  • HS December 9, 2018 (10:26 am)

Agree with other commenters. Two women, two men, you can clearly see the woman in the backseat and watch the driver rifle through other packages in the front seat. This drug epidemics reach seems to have no limits.

  • Sandal45 December 9, 2018 (10:26 am)

The driver actually looks as if he is inhaling drugs off a piece of tinfoil….. not eating. POSs!!  I still see so much good in west Seattle, but the bad is just as prevalent :(

  • Bib vila December 9, 2018 (10:39 am)

The man in the front seat is not eating. He is smoking heroin off a piece of tinfoil. Pretty obvious this is a truck full of junkies .

  • Azimuth December 9, 2018 (10:44 am)

That’s 4(!) people cruising around together taking turns. At least that left the smoking lady and driver time to discuss neoclassical literature or post-war art.

  • Jenkins December 9, 2018 (11:19 am)

    Some high-class POS right there.

  • BG December 9, 2018 (12:17 pm)

I worry about these people having to use drugs in an unsupervised environment. Safe Injection Sites can’t come soon enough…

    • CJ December 9, 2018 (3:18 pm)

I sincerely hope you comment was pure sarcasm. There’s nothing safe about these injection sites. The one in Vancouver BC has ruined the neighborhood.

  • Plf December 9, 2018 (12:24 pm)

Clearly I don’t know much about smoking off a piece of aluminum foil, I’m now educated,  if anyone sees this truck need to call the  police, happy holiday to get these lovely people off our streets

  • Namby December 9, 2018 (12:51 pm)

It’s a 4 person operation full time job. Stealing property, selling for pennies, buying and using drugs- all with little or no repercussion.

  • anonyme December 9, 2018 (1:05 pm)

Aw, me too, BG.  I feel soooo bad for these criminals who are forced to sit in a vehicle behind someone’s home to do drugs while their crew burglarizes the neighborhood.  Is it not their absolute right as junkies to shoot up in comfort, at the expense of taxpayers? As if what we really need is more protection for criminals?  Meanwhile, these bags of dirt will continue to victimize innocent people in order to get drug money; injection sites will not change that.  Meanwhile, they need a safe injection site with bars on the doors.

    • Namby December 9, 2018 (1:16 pm)

Ha! @anonyme-that really would be a safe injection site!

  • CanDo December 9, 2018 (1:40 pm)

Wow…   unbelievable.  I will watch for that vehicle.  Meanwhile, I read a post on social media the other day that made me laugh.   If you are having a package theft problem in the neighborhood, save your Amazon boxes and fill them with junk the next time you clean.  Leave them out on your doorstep for a thief and it will save you dump fees.  ☺

    • kelly December 10, 2018 (7:07 am)

      OMG @cando !!  That’s hysterical!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :p

    • KM December 10, 2018 (8:13 am)

With the level of trash found in our neighborhood from dumped boxes, I encourage people not to do this.

  • Kelly December 9, 2018 (1:43 pm)

I can’t say for sure but I feel 99% sure my sister and I had a run in with these people last month while retrieving her stolen car that was found in Burien ( I sent an email to WSB with all the details).  Basically while installing a new battery in my poor sister’s COMPLETELY STRIPPED car, a blacked out Tahoe with no plates pulled up and started harassing us. It was so terrifying as my gut intuition was telling me that we weren’t in a safe situation.  I yelled to my sister to call 911 and after that, the driver threw a full can of something straight at our heads barely missing us- then they peeled out.  We then had to run for cover back into my car while leaving her’s behind awaiting the cops to arrive.  Jeesh, we have PTSD from that day and just watching this video brought it all back! I pray these people get caught by the authorities! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

    • Namby December 9, 2018 (2:30 pm)

@kelly- that story is so gross!! I’m sorry that happened to you. It sounds like they saw you at a stripped car, and thought you were infringing on their theft turf…?

      • kelly December 10, 2018 (7:04 am)

Thanks @namby .  It was definitely scary tho I just feel so so so bad for my poor sister.  They ruined her car so badly that we ended up having to take it to the junker for a whole $200.  My sister is recently divorced, couch surfing and now doesn’t have a car!  When it rains it pours as they say sometimes.

  • Marietta December 9, 2018 (3:36 pm)

There are some highly distinguishable characteristics of this vehicle to help in identifying it- that I will demonstrate with screen caps. Very unique wheels-A small antenna mounted to the exterior of the drivers side rear quarter panel window-And here are a couple of the female passenger-Please report this vehicle if you see it.

  • dsa December 9, 2018 (3:48 pm)

How long can you drive around without plates?  I once accidentally drove from here to LA and back on month old expired tabs without getting stopped.  But the plates were in place.

    • WSB December 9, 2018 (3:58 pm)

Depends. SPD has automatic license-plate readers that catch stolen plates/stolen cars frequently (just listen to the scanner a bit). Platelessness may be safer. Perhaps they even take the plates off just before a run like this so they’re not caught on camera, then put them back on.

      • dsa December 9, 2018 (4:08 pm)

Yeah if the SPD plate scanner does not see a plate, it might not be able to determine if there is supposed to be a plate.  So the cops themselves may not even be looking at plates anymore, depending on the scanner instead.

        • WSB December 9, 2018 (4:16 pm)

They call in plates to the data center too. Only a couple ALPRs out there, though they’re trying to get more.

  • CREEPALERT December 9, 2018 (4:48 pm)

Black 2000-2006 Chevrolet Tahoe-Rims with 20 fins.-Antenna mounted on drivers side rear quarter panel window.  -Roof rack.-Chevy logo trailer hitch mount. Also, note the woman tries the side door of the garage as she passes. Can we assume she would have entered garage? Stop these crooks!

  • Chris December 9, 2018 (4:49 pm)

It looked like when the female came from back of house she had a package under her jacket.   It was very, very brief.   Also, it appears the plate might be back on the front of the van when parked in front….if we are looking at it right.   Of course, doubt could read from that distance.

  • Yikes December 9, 2018 (5:11 pm)

These people are relentless! It appears that they back into the first driveway, and a woman gets out, goes through the back yard to the house, and then returns. Then they back into to a second driveway, a woman and a man get out, she tries the garage side door, then they go through the back yard and all the way around the front of the second house (and perhaps over to check the front of the first house), before returning to the vehicle waiting in the driveway- while the driver smokes drugs- in broad daylight! BE VARY AFRAID OF THESE PEOPLE.

  • 1994 December 9, 2018 (8:51 pm)

Most likely any license plates they have are stolen. Can’t imagine people like this paying car tab license fees. Just steal another plate with current tabs.

  • jissy December 9, 2018 (10:04 pm)

This same vehicle was on a video on the “Take Back Burien” FB page posted Dec 7th, same antenna, same lady in the back stealing off a porch!  And no plates on the front.

    • Marietta December 13, 2018 (8:33 am)

@jissy- you’re right! Same enterprising group and Tahoe shown ripping off a burien house on the take back burien FB page! It’s heartwarming to see a young couple work so hard to put rock on the foil.

  • kelly December 10, 2018 (7:01 am)

Yes, I would agree about plates, distinguishing marks on cars etc. because when we went to retrieve my sister’s stolen car last month, the crooks actually changed out her wheels (as I believe they continued to drive it for a week), took all of the stickers off so it wouldn’t be as recognizable, and also obviously stole her plates to probably put on another one of their stolen vehicles.  After we picked up her car, I couldn’t help but wonder if these crooks troll the WSB to see what “we” are looking out for-if that makes sense..

  • Bitter December 10, 2018 (7:56 am)

This makes me SICK. I’m DAMN tired of this crap happening in our community. I’m sick of addicts and thieves, and tired of the city’s lack of a plan to address the current drug crisis and continual petty theft from our hard-working neighbors to get their next fix. The guy in front was definitely cooking and getting high off of God knows what. It’s also terrifying to me to know that they are on the road-DRIVING, endangering everyone while high. If SPD can’t find these POS, then hopefully the next crap they smoke will be their last. I’m DONE caring about people who don’t care about themselves.

  • Elle Nell December 10, 2018 (8:22 am)

This has and will always be a part of our society… we live in an urban city. They are addicts and who said any of you have to care about them..?? It sucks but the difference is there at cameras (everywhere) to catch their activity…. I’m yawning at the all the excitement… been the same for decades!! Carry on.

    • Helridge December 10, 2018 (9:46 am)

Sure it has but the level is intensifying. Urban doesn’t always have to mean high crime.

  • anonyme December 10, 2018 (9:29 am)

A big thanks to those who posted screenshots of identifying features on the truck, as well as the closeup of the perp smoking in the back seat.  She kinda reminds me of Snoop from “The Wire”…

  • WS Taxpayer December 10, 2018 (11:18 am)

What would the repercussions be should you happen upon this vehicle and “accidentially” deflate one of the tires whilst calling the appropriate authorities.

  • M December 11, 2018 (5:22 pm)
