TRAFFIC ALERT UPDATE: Crash on eastbound West Seattle Bridge, now cleared

(SDOT camera image from @seattledot tweet)

10:12 AM: Thanks for the texts – SDOT also verifies a crash on the eastbound bridge that is currently blocking three lanes, so if you’re heading that way, find another route. No injuries reported so far, apparently, as SFD has not been dispatched. One texter says their Metro bus stopped to take passengers transferred from another bus because of this.

10:15 AM: Now blocking just the left lane.

11:05 AM: SDOT reports the bridge is now clear.

Left the junction at 10, arrived Costco, 10:52. What a cluster.

On Twitter, Steph just reported it took an hour to get to the airport from Alki. So wherever you’re going, give yourself LOTS of time.

Um, I always take 509 to the airport never I-5. By the way, any ideas on how the car was hit to be facing that direction.

Please. I can see it from here–that little sport(ish) car needed to be where it was going faster than anyone else on the road. Add water and … fast travel equals need to stop fast equals spin outs. Add rain around here and crazy just happens. Physics loves the impatient.

Sorry, comment time is over.
