‘Pre-Black Friday Doorbusters’ – the furry kind, @ Kitty Harbor

Less than a week until the shopping day that’s become known as “Black Friday” (shop local indies!), we have word tonight of “Pre-Black Friday Doorbusters” … adoption “deals” at Kitty Harbor in West Seattle this weekend:

Avoid the crowds and bring home something much more special and lasting — an adopted cat(s)! This weekend, all colors of black kittens’ adoption donation is $20 less. We have panther black, elegant black, ink black, sleek black, reddish black, sexy black and more! Black cats are our personal favorite — they have cool personalities, beautiful eyes and are very loving. Did you know they were worshiped in ancient Egypt?

Prefer a more mature cat? Our 15 amazing adult cats want you to know that their adoption donation is just $50 this coming weekend. They’d like to remind you that they are yesterday’s kitten, are still playful, loving and very dignified.

It gets better! The above kitties will be sent home with their very own, special Christmas stocking, chock full of kitty kibble, toys, and catnip. Just our way of making sure you don’t have to go out shopping for their Christmas gift. We have 35 Adults, teenagers and kittens that are looking to meet you.

Kitty Harbor is at 3422 Harbor SW, open noon-5 Saturday and Sunday.

I concur! I would love one of each. An adult, teenager, and kitten! Although I don’t think our “little kitten” of 12 years would approve ;)

Co-publisher P, seeing it for the first time, said something similar to me about five minutes ago. (Its actual name is “Winky.”)

Was just at Kitty Harbor. Twenty more rescued kittens and cats arrived last night. They are from an Eastern Washington rescue group who is working very hard to change the ‘spay/neuter’ culture over there.

About one third of the cats ‘n’ kittens at Kitty Harbor come from this group. The kill rate of cats and kittens in Eastern Washington is between 70% – 90%. Kitty Harbor provides a life saving partnership with this particular group.

awww, i miss my black fuzzball. I would go get one of these kitties in a heart beat if my toddler knew how to be around cats. Maybe when she’s older we’ll get another kitty.

Funkietoo. Thanks for that grim statistic and reminder. Humans can do something about it.

The one-eyed kitty now has a new home and a new name: Lola. :-)

Ms. Picky, thank you for the update! Wishing a happy life to Lola (and of course to her new people) …

Twenty cats and kittens were adopted yesterday–4 were adults and 5 were black kittens. The ‘Pre-Black Friday Kitty Doorbuster ‘event continues through today. So many cute, fun, wonderful adults, teens and kittens looking to win your heart. Get there!

wb–you are very welcome. It’s a tough statistic to share, however, it reminds people that there is still much work to be done. And, when you adopt a cat, you are really, truly saving a life.

@Mike…There is an awesome adult black male at Kitty Harbor right now that is super laid back, likes everyone, etc. Think he might be great for a young child. He has a kitty cold so is in ISO, however, stop in to meet him–tell them Teri Ensley sent you. Also, 1 year old Lucy (see her photo on Sunday’s WSB update), went home with an adult cat yesterday. There is a great photo of her with her new adult kitty…soon to be posted on Kitty Harbor’s FB page.

Ms. Picky–congrats! I had the opportunity to meet Lola and she is a doll.

Thanks to everyone that adopted yesterday and will adopt today. Kitty Harbor is successful in saving lives because of each of you.

I should mention that Lola is our second adoption from Kitty Harbor. That big guy is happy and healthy and one of the great joys of our lives. Thank you, Kitty Harbor and thank you, WSB, because the blog is where we read about these events.
