The bus lane cop is cleaning up!

Saw a bicyclist turn left in front of cars onto Charlestown from California Northbound ~7:30am. He didn’t have the right of way. He was wearing a white t-shirt with tan shorts. Good thing the cars were going slow enough that there wasn’t an accident!

Also, now on bridge, there is a motorcycle cop stopping a vehicle at the on-ramp to 99. Seems to be a special enforcement.

    Love the bus lane cops!

As for the cyclist, your post is unclear. This intersection has a left turn lane that is controlled by a light.
Was he in the turn lane and turned on a red? If so, the cars in the opposite direction should have been stopped already… unless they were running the red.
If the light was green, then he could make the turn legally from the left turn lane. If he misjudged the distance that the cars who were coming towards him, then that’s on him. Though this is easy to misjudge when cars regularly go 45+ on California.
What it sounds like you might be saying is that he crossed all three lanes of traffic on the green, not using the turn lane. That would be completely illegal and you should report it to the police as it is happening. At the very least, they would give him a warning and educate him on the proper way to make a left, but hopefully they would ticket him for an illegal lane change.

Sorry, comment time is over.
