Traffic alert: President Obama landing at Boeing Field tomorrow

In case you haven’t heard … President Obama is returning to the Seattle area tomorrow for more campaign fundraising, and his arrival is coinciding with the evening commute, so we’re publishing an alert here, since you may see freeway traffic stoppages as well as Boeing Field-vicinity helicopters. The Seattle Times (WSB partner) says he’ll be here for two fundraisers tomorrow night at the Lake Washington waterfront home of Costco co-founder Jim Sinegal, will stay in the area overnight, and will leave Wednesday morning. The aviation advisory on the Boeing Field website puts his arrival in the 5 pm hour.

Wasn’t he just here? He just left Piedmont CA where my mom is. There was a lot of hub-bub – helicopters etc. $30,000 a plate dinner. Hello!

Ugh… I love President Obama when he isn’t messing up my already hellish commute. :-)

Argh… I am SO making sure I take the bus to work tomorrow. It may take just as long to get home but at least someone else will be driving and I can get some reading done :) Thanks for the heads up, WSB!

Thanks TR! Was looking for arrival time all day with no luck. Gotta be to the airport at 4-ish and was hoping not to run into any delays. now thinking I’ll be OK. This is truly “News You Can Use”!

P.S. Offer still stands on any Olympics stories you run across with WS ties …

I’m sending you one, actually, just found out late today. Thank you. Re: Prez, I just found out during the Biden visit that the advisories are always posted on the Boeing Field home page! – TR

Why don’t they fly in super early in the am or late the night before? In my opinion, that’s really thoughtless and inconsiderat of “the people”.

These jaunts are often multiple stops in one day. Air Force One landed in Portland a little while ago, and that’s where they’ll be coming from for the arrival today (now billed by WSDOT as around 5:50 pm). – TR
