Two reader reports for West Seattle Crime Watch: a two-bike theft in Hansen View (south of Providence Mount St. Vincent) with another bike found nearby, and a hit-run in The Junction. Read on for both:
From Kay:
Just wanted to report the theft of two bikes from our back yard. Whoever stole them had to come through a latched gate and into our yard. We live in the Hanson View neighborhood. (Saturday) on my walk I found a boy’s green bicycle stuffed in the bushes near our house, but it was not ours.
Kay says the stolen bikes are a silver-and-black man’s bike and a smaller, green-and-yellow boy’s bike. The bicycle she found was a metallic green boy’s bike and she was going to see if its owner turned up.
Rieko is hoping someone might have a clue about the hit-and-run driver she says hit her on Friday at 41st/Oregon around 3:20 pm:
I was driving toward east on Oregon Street and someone ignored a stop sign on 41st, ran into my car (damage on rear wheel and bumper) and continued to drive away toward north on 41st Ave. SW. I didn’t see the car but there were two nice ladies witnessed this hit and run accident. Both of them said it was a dark green mini van (possibly Chrysler) and its license plate number starts with 717 or 727. The driver was an Asian woman with long hair. My two sons were in the rear seats. One of them saw the dark green mini van as well but couldn’t see the license plate. This minivan should have some damage to the right front bumper. I was very distraught at the fact that the driver didn’t even stop to see if we are ok. It gives me shivers to think that she could have hit the rear door and injured my sons.
If you have any potential information, please contact police (206-625-5011) and mention the case number 12-196183.
