Two Friday night victories for Seattle Lutheran High School‘s varsity basketball teams – details and photos ahead:

From WSB co-publisher Patrick Sand, who covered the games at SLHS:

Bremerton’s Crosspoint Academy managed to hold Seattle Lutheran’s boys-varsity team to a three-point deficit, but after the half, the Saints’ Jordan Webb put on a clinic that put his team up by over 25 points in less than eight minutes of play.

The Saints finished up that run and steady fourth quarter to take the game 67-34. Webb finished the night with 24 points, but he also came out of the third quarter with about a half dozen steals. Crosspoint’s Warriors relied on the three-point shot to stay even or go ahead of Lutheran in the first half, but as the night progressed Lutheran’s control of the ball under the basket put them in control of the game.

The win still leaves Lutheran in third place in SeaTac 2-B play, with division leader undefeated Bear Creek coming to West Seattle to play the Saints Saturday afternoon at 4 pm.

In the first game, Crosspoint’s girls varsity had trouble getting a shot off in the first half, but the found their footing late in the game. With two minutes to play the Warriors came within one point of the Saints. But Crosspoint had no luck in those closing seconds trying to foul Lutheran players in hopes of getting the ball back. The Saints’ Ali Bigliardi went to the foul line three times and converted four of six tries to put the game away. The Lutheran girls varsity won the game 28-22 and it brings them to .500 on the season which puts them in third place in their division. Like the boys, they next play a Bear Creek team that is also the division leader.
