Power, cable outage reported in part of Fauntleroy area

8:10 PM: Thanks to Nathan for the tip that more than 300 homes/businesses are reported without power in southwestern West Seattle, from Brace Point southward and toward the water, including a stretch west of Marine View Drive. He says that while his home didn’t lose power, it did lose Comcast service. The City Light outage map indicates they are hoping to restore power within a few hours.

11:18 PM: Nathan sent an update that he lost his power not long after e-mailing us; meantime, the City Light map now estimates restoration after midnight.

1:24 AM: Estimated restoration time is now after 11 am.

We lost power yesterday evening in Fauntlee Hills for unknown reasons. It just lasted about 15 seconds.

We are still without power. Been without since noon. Our alarm system just went off which is creepy since we have never had it “on”. Just kind of a creepy night without power. Btw-using my phone to check the blog…

We are getting internet cable shut offs with modem taking a while to come back. Called Comcast and they are just shrugging it off saying they have no reports of a problem. If your having a problem please report it so they will do something. One or two people reporting will not get them to do it apparently.

I didn’t include this but Nathan said he had seen a Comcast tech out somewhere working on a portable generator. So they seemed to have someone in the field aware of what’s going on. We had a Comcast outage just the other day – but we are about a mile north of tonight’s outage zone. – TR

Yesterday (Friday) the City Light electric power flickered in the evening in Morgan Junction for about 15 seconds. I see this also happened in Fauntlee Hills.

The City Light map shows about 100 customers still out – which does mean 200+ are back on.

I had problems with Comcast Saturday and Sunday morning, even though I wasn’t aware of any outage. I’m clear over in Highland Park. Thanks to reading these comments, I called Comcast to see what was up. I was told to unplug my modem and power down, then plug everything back in and power up. It worked.

does anybody know why power went out friday 8th?? it didnt last long, thought was an accident, power lines/poles shook like crazy!

Sometime between 5AM and 8:30AM the power came on for us (on 47th Ave SW between Brace Point and SW 98th St.). Comcast internet is also working. Our cable TV doesn’t seem to be working yet, but it appears it could be an issue with our DVR and maybe not the service/connection to the house. Seattle City Light is still showing two groups of customers out to the south and west of us.
