West Seattle traffic alerts: Today/tonight closures

Right about now, the Alaskan Way Viaduct should be shutting down for Day 1 of its two-day semi-annual inspection – 6 am to 6 pm, today and tomorrow. And as announced last night, the Spokane Street Viaducts westbound lanes will close overnight tonight, 10 pm-5 am. But its eastbound lanes aren’t affected – and during the AWV closure, the new 4th Avenue offramp on that side should help you get downtown without having to go all the way to I-5.

Will you be able to get onto the West Seattle Bridge from the viaduct this evening after 10? Seems to be horrible planning if you ask me. Can’t take 99 to the Huskies game, then can’t take the Spokane Street viaduct after the game apx. 11.

I sure hope you’ll be able to take 99 to the West Seattle Bridge after the game or it will be horrible.

It says the viaduct closure is 6 am to 6 pm so all should be good getting back from Huskies game. Go Dawgs!

Does the spokane street viaduct mean the exit off I5 south to the West Seattle Bridge. Because if so you will not be able to take that exit after the Husky game? Is that right?
    Go Beavers!

We were heading *towards* Portland yesterday and there was a broken down RV that had the Interstate down to one lane. It was a dead lock for both fans. It had to have been backed up for about 7 or 8 miles. SORRY FOR THOSE WHO MISSED THE CHANCE TO TAILGATE!

Sorry, comment time is over.
