New York Times spotlights Bakery Nouveau and Full Tilt Ice Cream

There’ll be no living with us now. We are the sweets capital of the region. In an article for next Sunday’s New York Times (it’s dated May 16 but online today), a Seattle-based writer talks about five places she loves to stop for sweets, and two of them are in our area – West Seattle’s Bakery Nouveau, White Center’s Full Tilt Ice Cream. Read the story here; the FT photos start here. (Thanks to Alex for the tip!)

About time we get some good press for local businesses. Keep up the good work BN and FT.

OK … too expensive, but OK

Its about effing time. The 2 places I visit most… well, the 2 establishments, at least… on the west side!!!! I love me some BN and FT.

Unfortunately, I have to make a concerted effort to keep them on different days.

By the way, All-star thanks you for my patronage!!!!!!!

Good for both! I am not a fan of BN, seems over rated to me. I chuckled both Saturday and Sunday when I saw the line of people waiting to buy their wares. I don’t get it. But I am happy for them anyway; and for Full Tilt.

That first bite from a BN baguette, still warm from the ovens, is transcendent; as good as any I’ve had in Europe.
I’ll happily keep on searching for the best, though.

In other WS foodie news – the latest issue of Sunset Magazine had little blurbs about Spring Hill and Fresh Bistro.

It’s my own tradition to visit BN every weekend for a macaron or two. Their margarita ones are bliss.

FYI for the peletas’ fans –
there were some in the case today at FT. Yay!

Might want to try the Vietnamese Cinammon or perhaps the Honey Lavender? Blueberry is in too. Can’t forget the blueberry.

Well done and well deserved by both! I’ve already been to BN for a baguette and macarons today; will be at FT this evening for the post-grill treats.

Really? FT is not good and such an icky, dirty place. I’ve been to 2 so far (only bc of my Groupon) and their locations leave much to be desired. BN was good but my god – the prices?! Are you kidding me?!

Sorry, comment time is over.
