Got little ones? New schedule for Toddler Story Time at HP Library

Just in from Amy:

The High Point Library’s Toddler Story Time hours are changing; story time will now be held at 11:30am on Thursdays. Bring your toddlers to enjoy stories, rhymes, songs and fun with the Children’s Librarian. Library events and programs are free and everyone is welcome.

You can watch for Toddler Story Time events – and other events at local library branches (for adults as well as kids) – on the Seattle Public Library‘s weekly systemwide Calendar of Events; see it here (and also find a permanent link at the bottom of our West Seattle Events page). This week, by the way, all branches will close at 6 pm Thursday and reopen on Saturday.

That’s pretty much the same time as Delridge’s story time! Why would the two do story time so close together that library patrons couldn’t attend both?

When we did a feature on the story times some months back, it seemed like there was some sharing of resources between the two. So maybe other changes are in the wind. I will send a note to Amy to ask (if she doesn’t see this first) – TR

Why not have some storytime on a weekend as well? Working parents can’t really attend these middle of the day events.

Southwest storytime is on Thurs too. (Thurs at 11 am).I am surprised they do have them on the same day since some people can’t make Thursdays and might make another day.

E-don’t know about weekends but Delridge hosts a PJ storytime at 7 pm on Tuesday. It is pretty convenient for those who cant make daytime story times and is only 1/2 hour.

    Thanks for the feedback!

The Seattle Public Library hopes to move toward a diversity of story time schedules with the new Library hours that begin Feb. 3. We can’t give definitive answers right now as to when the West Seattle-area story times will be, but this month our librarians are planning programs and activities that fit within the new hours.

For more information about the new hours, please visit the Library’s Web site at http://www.spl.org or call the Library’s Quick Information Center at 206-386-4636.
