Summer’s over but things just don’t seem to slow down. So SDOT is continuing to issue these alerts. The big one, as mentioned yesterday – Saturday morning’s Alaskan Way Viaduct closure for the Puget Sound Heart Walk (though SDOT has a different start time – we’re following up to see which is rightupdate, SDOT says 8:15-11:30 is correct). Read on for the full list:

On Saturday, October 3, thousands of people will do the right thing for their hearts and for the Heart Association by taking part in the Puget Sound Heart Walk. In addition to the closure of the Alaskan Way Viaduct on Saturday morning for the Heart Walk, the Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) advises motorists to also plan on heavy traffic associated with other events taking place over the weekend. SDOT encourages motorists to “think green” and try reducing their “carbon footprint” and save money by traveling to the weekend events via bus, the Sounder, Link Light Rail, cycling or, if appropriate, walking.
