Luminarias like those will grace the field at West Seattle Stadium tonight, 10 pm, during the American Cancer Society-fundraising Relay for Life of West Seattle (WSB preview story here), which begins tonight with a 6 pm survivors’ lap, and continues all night, till noon tomorrow. Many other weekend highlights, including “Music Nights” resuming tonight at Cafe Rozella (with Children of the Revolution at 7 pm), a welcome-home party for surfing-injury survivor Addie Killam … 37 West Seattle events/activities ahead for tonight, tomorrow, and Sunday:

FRIDAY NIGHT OVERNIGHT TO SATURDAY NOON: West Seattle Relay for Life, West Seattle Stadium (more info here) Details from organizers: Come join us for Relay For Life of West Seattle. This year’s theme is Celebrate! Remember! Fight Back! We want to celebrate the survivors of cancer and the people who support them. We need to remember those who have lost their battle with cancer. And most importantly, we need to everything in our power to fight back! Relay starts at 6 PM on Friday night and goes to noon on Saturday at West Seattle Stadium. This is a fun-filled overnight event designed to bring together those who have been touched by cancer in our community. There are lots of activities and events to join. A couple of special events are:
· Survivor lap at 6 PM on Friday evening. We invite all survivors and care givers to join us.
· Ceremony of Hope at 10 PM on Friday evening. Come join us as we light the luminaria as a sign of hope.

FRIDAY NIGHT: Music Nights return to Cafe Rozella with Children of the Revolution performing on this night, 7 pm

SATURDAY: Field Day for amateur-radio operators, with South Seattle Community College as the lone West Seattle open-to-the-public location

SATURDAY: 12th annual Bull Stewart Alki Beach Classic Bench Press and Dead Lift Championship at Alki

SATURDAY MORNING: Gatewood Elementary playground work party, shoveling wood chips for new play structure area, starting at 9 am

SATURDAY MORNING: Championship play for West Seattle Little League’s 9-10 and 10-11 All-Stars, undefeated so far in the District 7 All-Star Tournament. Both teams will play in championship games at PacWest Fields in SeaTac (map) (9-10’s play at 9 am, 10-11’s at 10 am).
