Thanks to Luckie for that shot of the Lafayette Elementary “Best of Broadway” cast, who performed three of the past four nights at the West Seattle High School theater. In addition to the photo- and video-enhanced report we posted last night about Saturday events around West Seattle (BESIDES the caucuses), we have more to show you tonight:

For all the reporting and discussion we’ve had here about new West Seattle restaurants … some of the not-so-new ones deserve a shoutout from time to time … this weekend, Circa in the Admiral District celebrated its 10th anniversary, which we understand is pretty amazing in the restaurant business. Here are some photos shared by Circa staffer Melissa – first, from the Saturday night party, then a b/w photo of owner Chris Wissmar:

Another longtime West Seattle business (30 years!) made news this weekend: The hair experts at Illusions (WSB sponsor) donated their time this afternoon for their annual “Have a Heart Day,” with proceeds going to benefit Southwest Youth and Family Services and Pencil Me in for Kids. We dropped in with the video camera for a quick look around at how things were going:

And WSB contributing photojournalist Matt Durham got the following photo, reporting: “Children from all over West Seattle and White Center packed the YMCA gyms and High Point Community Center Sunday to play their final games as part of the YMCA Basketball League.”

One more plug: We do our best to find out about events like these, and everything listed on the WSB Events page, by gathering information in a variety of ways – but absolutely the most valuable means of info-gathering is receiving info from you. If you know of something coming up that the rest of the community should know about, please take a minute and e-mail us about it. Don’t worry about writing up a long description – who/what/when/where will suffice, and a weblink if you have it. Thanks!
