The map’s up

As promised, Megawatt has just posted the map and guide to all 130-plus locations planning yard/garage/whatever sales this Saturday during its 3rd Annual West Seattle Community Garage Sale Day. The guide splits the list into “quadrants” — check it out to see who’ll be selling what near you!

Boy, they sure screwed up my listing. I just sent them an email so hopefully they can figure out if it was an error or if it was an exec decision for length.

I am site 74 at 7120 18th Ave SW. What I wrote for my description was MOVING SALE, books, LPs, kitchen items, stuffed animals, children’s jewelry, etc. I talked to someone at the farmers market on opening weekend and asked to add “free firewood rounds” but she said there was no guarantee and I accept that.

What they printed for me? “Equipment and supplies”. Rather nebulous, and from a promotion perspective not very motivating to get people to come since it is so unspecific. Most people have much longer and descriptive entries.

Perhaps because I am at the end of a column they just shortened it. Not too happy about it, but oh well. At least it doesn’t look like rain!!

No worries Wendy, if your on the list, they will come.

Wendy, I hope your note here gets more people to come. I know for me, the descriptions are very important. We’re moving today, and with unpacking to be done this weekend, I really don’t have time for the garage sales. So I’ve been looking over the list and circling a few that describe what I might be looking for. Hope your sale is successful!

I’m putting out stuff with a “free” sign. Garage is getting a little too full.

Sorry, comment time is over.
