If you’re registered to vote, you might get your viaduct ballot before the week is over. In today’s viaduct news (so far), the guv still says it’s Replacement-A-Duct or nothing — no, wait, she even ruled out “nothing.” And if you want to read all the million-dollar fine print before your ballot arrives, the official “voters’ guide” is now available on the city website.

I am betting that somewhere on the order of 30% actually vote. Many will not because it is a meaningless vote and a waste of time.

Hizzoner and the other electeds will take the outcome as mandate nonetheless.

I am disappointed that there have been no other options put on the table other than another viaduct or ill-fated shoreline tunnel. Following is an article that discusses an option for redirecting State Rout 99 up sixth avenue and under the city using the tunnel boring machine that’s being used to bore a hole for the Sound Transit Tunnel through Beacon hill. If the link doesn’t work, just google Puget Sound Magazine
