Reader Recommendation Request for a CPA

While we work on that tree-lighting video, we wanted to send out another Reader Recommendation Request that’s been in queue a while: This one is simple — a reader’s looking for a “good CPA, can be in West Seattle or downtown.” (All RRRs are archived here.)

  3. Do you specifically need a CPA? Depending on the job, there are other types of accountants who may be less expensive and just as helpful. For example, for small business accounting, someone with an APS certification would be just as useful. If it’s complicated tax-related issues, then yes a CPA is best.

    The only reason I point this out is that CPAs can be quite expensive, and if it’s something like a bookkeeping snafu to be sorted out, you may prefer to look for an APS or other certified accounting professional.

  4. We’re looking for a new accountant (doesn’t have to be a CPA) to do our taxes this year. We were increasingly annoyed at our old one (we were shipping our stuff back to NY for him to do) and finally fired him. So if anyone has any accountant, CPA or not, to do taxes, I’d love to hear those recommendations too.

  5. I’d love to hear other’s recommendations as well. I need an accountant to help me with my 1040. Now that I am both teaching and working as a freelance film-producer, my tax deductions have become a bit complicated.

  6. I second the Jason Durante recommendation! He has been our accountant for 5 years both for our personal and business taxes. He is the very BEST in his field. I could not run my business without him.

    Jason knows accounting, it’s that simple. You can stop by the coffee shop anytime for a personal recommendation!
