kgdlgParticipantI have worked in the restaurant industry so I get what makes small businesses profitable. My point about her size was that she is pretty packed already (although I don’t know about her dinner service) so I was concerned that to significantly increase profit in that dynamic, I would imagine she would have to 1) turn tables faster (which seems hard given her kitchen situation) or 2) raise prices. I mentioned size only because she is so packed already and from what I can tell, doing quite well. I love the food there. I really like Miranda. But the venting makes me physically uncomfortable. So I don’t eat there. Sorry, but this is my experience and I do hope it gets fixed soon.

kgdlgParticipantLet me me clear: I don’t want Miranda out of business! But I bad no issue with the cinema situation referenced above – that was a serious health and safety violation that HAD to be fixed. I don’t rank venting as serious as this but I do think it should be a concern. I am considering walking a big check over to her this weekend to start the HVAC fund!

Betty TMemberI love Meanders. Yes ventilation is bad but sure hope it can be rememdied soon. It would be a shame to lose such a great place and food. Even with the added table space I see people waiting when I pass by on the bus, going about my daily business. I admire those of the younger generation with the know how, ability and talent to strike out on their own to start a new business. Also the sticktoativeness to make it work. I love that word. I wish her the best in her venture.
