MargLMemberGoodwill or Value Village – if they’re regular movies, however if they are old TV shows or random home recordings of whatever I’m not sure they’ll take them (anyone know?)… I was doing some research on this and you can box them up and mail them to GreenDisk
http://www.greendisk.com/ and for a fee they will recycle them like e-waste instead of dumping them in a landfill.

JEMParticipant3R Technology in SODO (1920 Occidental) takes them, but charges $1.00/lb according to their web-site. I am currently driving around with a big box of VHS and BETA tapes in the car, because they didn’t take them at the Fauntleroy Y electronics recycling event!

ConcernedHedonistMember3R is an awesome company…great customer service and very reliable and informative. Never have had to get rid of tapes but had a pretty complicated heavy duty equipment disposal situation involving three companies, one property and LOTS of equipment…can’t say enough about the service I received.
You can always find an artist…http://www.myrecycledbags.com/2007/04/09/crocheted-sling-bag-of-recycled-vhs-tape/

I will take a small box of 10 – 15 VCR tapes; I still record on VCR and often not enough time to watch til weeks later; someday I’ll upgrade, but for now, would love to take some of those tapes; I’m in Admiral divincent@aol.com 206-949-7377
