TreyseaLinMemberAnyone know of a medical supply store or a place to buy a wrist brace? The pharmacies don’t carry the one I need, which immobilizes both the wrist and the thumb. Thanks!

miwsParticipantYou might want to give Kleenwell, in Burien a call:
(206) 433-0715
Don’t know if they’d carry something such as that, but worth a try.
They are at:
15455 4th Ave SW # B Burien

trickycooljParticipantYou may be able to have your local/favorite pharmacist to order it. I’ve had two “behind the counter” medicines recommended to me before that we’re not prescription but did need to be special ordered because they weren’t very common.
I would also check drugstore.com they carry tons of the now hard to find things.
Seems like some Bartell Drugs are bigger than others. I needed some first aid gauze for road rash last summer which I have seen at the big U-Village location but definitely not carried at the Jeff Square store. Might just have to call around.
Good luck!!

akaalkiParticipantThis is called a “thumb spica.”
Southwest Hand Therapy has them!
They’re near the corner of 35th & Alaska:
4621 35th Ave. SW Suite A
phone: 206-935-1215
I went crazy driving all over creation and ended up getting one way up north at Northwest Hospital’s outlet – can you believe it?! Later I found out I could have gotten one right here in West Seattle.
You may have insurance to cover this, but if not, I think if you have a prescription, there is no sales tax. I want to say they cost about $40.
Best wishes for a speedy recovery. And let us know how this works out.
