SueParticipantif you’re already going to be in WS, I think it’s worth a trip, especially since you can stay as short or as long as you like. It’s not a huge festival like those in Seattle Center, and there are a lot of booths for local services, but between the music and food and the festive atmosphere, I think it’s worth a trip if you’re nearby anyway.

pamMemberThere are a lot of things going on this weekend – milk carton derby on Green Lake, International District street festival, Pike Place Market has a festival going on plus our neighborhood festival. Lots of fun things to make memories with to get you through the dreary fall and winter!

MagpieParticipantA few hours at the Street Festival is fun, except if the weather is crummy. Also, Vashon has their Lavender Festival this weekend. Parking can be a pain in WS, but we live close enough to the Junction to walk. Great deals to be had at most of the stores, too. Great place to run into people you haven’t seen in a while and if it is too hot, can always cool down at the Beer Garden!

flowerpetalMemberOne of the aspects I enjoy about the Street Festival is the small town feel. I enjoy running into folks I haven’t seen for awhile; and equally I enjoy meeting new friends! We are even welcoming to out of towners from PA!

WSBKeymasterYou can browse all the merchants, vendors, food offerings, music, etc. online to even plan your visit (including maps showing exactly whose booth is where – correlating the booth # to the location)

We’ll be there the whole time, in the big tent in the heart of California/Alaska like last year, along with Junction Association, Chamber of Commerce, and Friends of Junction Place Park.

flowerpetalMemberIf you are in West Seattle by 2:00 p.m. I would recommend going over to hear Toy Box Trio at that time. The concertina, a violoncello and a toy piano combine wonderfully for a kind of music reminiscent of antique music boxes or a haunted carnival. Its very infectious, I was drawn to it right away. Kids enjoy its playful simplicity and adults may find it hard to turn away! Toy Box Trio plays from 2:00 to 2:45.
