I live in Arbor Heights and have a very large rain garden. Since its installation, I have not had any issues with water in the crawlspace. Even during the largest of rainstorms, the pump has not turned on. Today/tonight it has. Is anybody else’s pump turning on that normally does not?

I went out to the meter to see if it was running thinking there was a broken pipe from the colder weather. Unfortunately, the box that holds the meter is filled with water which makes reading it impossible.

I had the box that reads the meter fill with water once, and it was due to a leak where my line joined the street line. If the water level does not go down, you might have a leak there. I called the City of Seattle water leak line, and they had someone out to fix it within an hour. Since the leak was on their side, there was no charge to me to fix it, and I got a water bill adjustment too. Mine was easy to tell that it was a leak because it happened in summer when it had not been raining.
