Hello! My wife and I are finally getting ready to start a small vegetable garden. I’m planning on building a couple of raised beds, and was wondering if there was a local source for a mix of soil/compost/etc you’d recommend?

    Thanks!

We got a load of the veggie garden mix from E-green Landscaping last year. I think they mixed it with some manure before delivery.

Had an insanely good year for tomatoes last year and that’s all I used in my raised beds.

We LOVE Burien Bark’s garden mix. You can buy it by the truck load or they sell it in bags. It was wonderful in my garden last year, so I went back to buy more. The lady behind the counter at Burien Bark said that people travel from all around to get some.

Thanks, MargL & J! I’ll give them both a call in the morning.

Ps on Burien Bark. Bags are heavy when wet. Consider using a cart. Staff is very efficient and service is quick.

(Anything is better than Sawdust Supply. They don’t stand behind their weed-filled products.)
