Several folks wrote in the Seattle Freeze discussion topic that they would like to get together with interested West Seattle Blog afficionados and un-freeze the Seattle reputation for frostiness.

A few of us agreed to get the party started and you are welcome to join us…

“Let’s meet at 4:00, Sunday February 3rd at C&P Coffee Company on California. Jacqueline Leigh is performing until 5:00 and after that we can pull out the board games. I’ll bring an electronic CatchPhrase game that is a great hit at my house.

I listened to Jacqueline’s Myspace music and she sounds nice & easy.

Yes, we figured out after we set the date that indeed this is Superbowl Sunday. This may have been a Freudian slip on my part. Since four of us have put it on our calendars, we’re sticking with this date and hope that more chances to un-freeze will follow.

    What do you think?

we need to emphasize that this is not just for the women of the blog…the men are counted in , too…at least I hope so…they must have something of interest to say….right?

I plan on being there. Being Superbowl Sunday, I’m sure my husband, the life-long Giants fan, will be otherwise occupied. :)

Sounds like a great idea! I experienced the “seattle freeze” myself many yrs ago, and am now new to WS, so would love to meet some new people.

Will there be another get together after Feb 3rd? I’m a big Patriots fan, so will doing the Superbowl that day. :-)

I’m afraid my old loyalty to the Pats is going to rule — but Bob and I are really looking forward to the next one — soon, please.

I had a very nice time at the gathering – 5 of us got together and had nice conversation. We’d definitely like to get together again and hope some of the Superbowl fans can join us too next time. Promise we won’t schedule it over a superbowl. :)

i have to second Sue’s good time. and although i will admit that since our group seemed to be mostly of the democratic persuasion, we did diss on politics a little… but we also had an intense conversation about “Lost” and local resteraunts and.. and.. and.

i can’t wait to see what the next meeting brings.

I’m glad I made it down to C&P. The WSB’ers there were fun and interesting!! This is definitely a way to defrost….How about C&P again – Sunday afternoons – once/month – every other week?

Sorry that I missed it. I had to take care of something and wouldn’t have been good company afterward. I will try to make the next one.

Ditto… I tried to make it on time, but a puppy problem delayed my departure. By the time I got there at 5:30pm, it was all folks with laptops. Oh well — hopefully the dogs will let me be more punctual at the next one!

I also clearly didn’t make it. Glad it went well. Will definitely be there next time.

Glad it all went well. Sadly, my team did not win this past Sunday and now I will live out the drought until the NFL season rolls around again. hope the WSB Anti-Freeze group meets again very soon, so I can show up :-)

perhaps the group might want a standing time.. every couple of weeks or so.. like the 1st and third (monday, tuesday, wednesday, thursday…etc)… at a set time.

That way you could drop in if you have the desire and time.. and not feel you are missing out forever if you can’t.

i find weekends difficult because of family concerns, but i think others find weekdays equally difficult because of work and family.

    any ideas?

Has anyone made progress on an anti-freeze schedule? I’d love to meet up for another one.

Perhaps we can do two per month to encompass diversity of schedules – one weekday, one weekend.

I can attend weekends or evenings, at coffeehouse or bar.

hmmm….I think Feb. 16 at Christo’s on Alki at 10:30am? It was on another thread (maybe the Seattle Freeze one). JoB could probably tell you what’s up. Unfortunately, once more I can’t make it…have previous lunch plans that day…:(

Or we could have a joint event — thawed geezers. If you giggle at the idea of a joint event, you belong :-)

i like that idea.. and i think it was 1 PM.. not 10:30 but i think i am adaptable.

there is an outside chance i will have a meeting that day and won’t be able to make it.. but i think it’s still on.

I am a touch shy of the 50/60 range so wasn’t reading that thread although I am old enough to be a sibling. Can I be the tagalong little sis? I wouldn’t mind brunch and a bloody mary so will plan to be at Christo’s at 1pm tomorrow (Sat).

squareeyes.. you would be welcome. we had another attendee at the last one who was also a touch shy of the age bracket.

heck.. you can be a mile shy of the age bracket in either direction and be welcome on saturday:)
