AlkiMermaidParticipantHi folks,
I am looking for a vet for my healthy adult cat. I prefer a cat-only vet, but I’m not sure there are any in the area. I was going to Cats Exclusive in Shoreline for a long time because I love them but the ride is too far now for my feline.
Please let me know if you can recommend a good cat-friendly vet.
Thanks!!

SueParticipantThere’s a cats only clinic on Stone Way: http://www.catclinicofseattle.com/
I don’t know anything personally about them other than they exist. :) I take my cat to Lien Animal Clinic here in West Seattle, but they definitely are not cats only.
My cat would be happier if it could find a clinic that took no cats except him – he loves dogs, but show him a cat and he’s not a happy camper. :)

transplantellaParticipantThe talented, skilled, and marvelous Dr. Cuthbert
at Five Corners Animal Hospital in Burien. Absolutely the best vet ever.
They do routine care and 24 hour emergencies. Dr. Cuthbert saved my cat’s life after he’d been hit by a car and was largely crushed and nearly dead. Emergency surgery and all the follow up, Dr. Cuthbert was brilliant and my cat is now in perfect condition.
It don’t get no better than that.

AimParticipant5 corners is great, and they’re good for emergencies.
For regular office stuff I prefer someone closer by. A previous member here recommended Animal Clinic of Roxbury to me (if you’re still lurking, THANK YOU), and I’ve been thrilled with them. They treat my cats well, and don’t rack up a huge bill with unnecessary tests.
I would not recommend Lien. I had two experiences there, with two different cats, and neither was great – but both were very expensive.
Also, if such things are important to you in one direction or the other, the docs at Lien are highly involved with the Promise Keepers.

LenaParticipantCat’s Exclusive is great but as you say a a far drive. I also highly recommend Lien for both cats and dogs. The other cat only clinics are not as good as Cat’s or Lien in my opinion.
Just to clarify the vets currently at Lien are not involved with the Promise Keepers (that was Dr. King the former owner who has since retired).

HMC RichParticipantVCA on California I believe has a seperate Cat and Dog entrance. I like the vets there as well as West Seattle Animal Hospital. Both take a variety of animals so they are not Cat Exclusive. I used to take my oldest feline to the Cat Clinic in Bothell but that was a long time ago.
