Jan, the way you keep saying that makes you sound like a defeatist. Which is unfortunate, because I know you’re not one.
Please remember that the first step toward ending this madness is to create a culture that rejects the idea of guns as being something normal or something that’s just “the price we have to pay for freedom.” And that’s exactly what we’re doing here, creating that culture. So please try to think positive.

You know, when I first started bringing this topic up, the pro-gun folks were still in full swagger, acting like anyone who was for tougher gun laws was just a voice in the wilderness.
Now, after so many shootings — shootings in which the gun-toting “good guys” did not, in fact, come to the rescue — the public mood is changing.
Yes, the tide is finally turning against the NRA. So let’s think positive and keep it going.
