Sounding Verrrrry desperate this week JoB.. polls getting to you? Did you read that voter suppressing Ohio has just arrested three early voters.. for voting multiple times, under different names? Are you surprised they were Democrat votes? Your candidate lost Florida… which one was your candidate? Gore or Nadar? Nadar took the election away from Gore. Truth be told. Voter suppression eh?

    Florida:

Nineteen ballots dropped off by Cabrera were recovered at a local post office, according to the arrest warrant, and an additional 12 were found in Cabrera’s car.

Nineteen ballots dropped off by Cabrera were recovered at a local post office, according to the arrest warrant, and an additional 12 were found in Cabrera’s car.

One senior Hialeah resident told Local 10 that Cabrera had tried to sway him to vote for current Miami-Dade Mayor Carlos Gimenez, who is up for re-election. Another woman told El Nuevo Herald that Cabrera filled out ballots for her and her husband twice last year and offered to move them up a public housing waiting list.

    OH

10/17/12: OHIO: Dominique Atkins, Debbie L. Tingler, Marian Wilson: double voting

“Three Franklin County residents face felony charges of voter fraud after the Board of Elections reported that they had voted more than once in a past election.” 3 People Indicted for Felony Vote Fraud, The Columbus Dispatch, Oct. 17, 2012.

    CA

“A Mexican who was deported decades ago for drug trafficking pleaded guilty this week to living illegally in Escondido under a false identity and fraudulently voting in the 2008 U.S. presidential election, federal authorities said Friday. Ricardo Lopez-Munguia, 45, pleaded guilty Thursday to attempted entry to the U.S. after deportation, making a false claim to U.S. citizenship, and voter fraud by an illegal alien, according to a statement from the U.S. attorney’s office.”

Yea.. vote sanctity is soooo important… unless …. you hear a higher calling from a Messiah.

oh, good grief! JoB reaching? Not if you pay attention to the news. That story is everywhere. Interesting that it’s Ohio, where there have already been fraud problems in the past.

You lambast us for our “messiah”, yet you refuse to see that the Romney’s are anything but perfection…give me a damned break!

oh, crap! koo00tchman caught us! all three of us!

“pay no attention to that man behind the curtain! he’s just stealing the entire election. it’s those three dead illegal immigrant democratic voters that you should persecute!”

see, koo00tch, there’s a difference between petty crime and institutional crime. now, petty crime is wrong, make no mistake about how i feel about that. those dumb shlubs will get the book thrown at them, and rightly so. they’ll go to jail. their lives will change for the worse because they were stupid.

but the fact is that their double votes aren’t going to tilt the ohio election results. not one iota.

tagg or lint or boot or whatever the hell his name is can tilt the election and do real damage to the democratic process. and for a profit! and he can walk away a free and rich man, believing wrongly that he did the right thing for his country.

do you see the difference? i’ll bet you don’t. and i’ll bet you continue to play paul revere to this horrible voting fraud canard while ignoring election fraud.

somehow i don’t think it’s a coincidence that Romney’s kid chose that particular investment.. do you?

if so.. i still have this footbridge in china.. it’s been in the family for generations…

btw.. there is something i forgot to say yesterday

When Unions advise their members on political issues..

they are advising them how to vote in their own individual best interests…

when employers do so.. they are advising them how to vote in the individual employers best interests..

and implying they won’t have a job if they don’t.

one of these things is so not like the others.

Sure. Protect the sanctity of the vote. Voter registrations and voter ID… protects both parties. Tis such myopic thinking that loses jobs. Your boss handing you a paycheck every week is in your best interest. Just ask the 189,000 employees who are losing their full time benefits and will now be part time employees with no benefits, no pensions, no 401K’s .. cause Obamcare and Obamanomics cost too much. You think Darden should not have told their workers they were going to lose all their company benefits if Obamacare was implemented? They didn’t imply it… they are doing it. Ya think temp workers should have been told that they won’t get assigned more than 29 hours a week now? If they do, the temp agency will have to provide health coverage under Obamacare? Why would you want to keep that information from your work force? Just surprise em’ one morning?

“But as a temp agency, they have dozens of employees who find temporary, part-time work at 30-plus hours a week. Now, under Obamacare, these employees are full-time and trigger the mandate.”

or maybe these workers would want to know a few things before they cattle herd themselves to the polling booth?

In fact, it was former Democratic Senator from Indiana Evan Bayh who wrote in the Wall Street Journal that the impact of the medical device tax will be “severe”:

The adverse effect of this confiscatory level of taxation on traditional device makers is already clear. In my state of Indiana alone, Cook Medical has canceled plans to build one new U.S. facility annually in each of the next several years, and Zimmer plans to lay off 450 workers, while Hill-Rom expects to lay off 200. Stryker, based in Michigan, anticipates having to lay off 1,000 workers.

A vote for the President is a vote – or two – for Romney

why would these individuals who serve on the board of directors of Hart Intercivic go out of their way to make a contribution to any political candidate given the critical importance of their company remaining above reproach when it comes to the political process?

And why would a political candidate and his family have a financial relationship with a company that owns a chunk of the voting machine company that will be counting the actual votes given to that political candidate or his opponent?

Keith Olbermann was suspended from his job at MSNBC for donating a couple hundred bucks to a local candidate that was a friend of his. Why? Because his employer required that journalists at the network stay free of having given such contributions to any candidate for all the obvious reasons.

Is it really too much to ask that those who control the voting machines that record and count the votes of our elections be held to at least the same standard?

Really, guys. You couldn’t find anything else to invest in?

I truly wonder sometimes just what these allegedly smart people have inside their heads—or, more importantly, their hearts.

How stupid are any of the Romneys to invest in a voting machine company, which is a conflict of interest?

How stupid is Ohio and any other state using those machines to not immediately ban those voting machines and grind out paper ballots really fast?

How stupid are the American people to let this pass? The Romney camp refuses to release back tax records, refuses to give details of their tax plan which they swear will work (just trust them) refuses to release all records from the years at Bain, changes their story all the time so no one really knows what they believe and now shows conflict of interest investments… with impunity.

This is unbelievable and why the American people continue to put up with it is completely beyond me.

`Why wouldn’t they? Biden’s brother is a war profiteer. More Crony ism?

HillStone International won a coveted government contract in part because the company has “the little brother of the vice president as a partner,” as David Richter, president of HillStone’s parent company explained to investors in a recent meeting reported on by Fox Business today.

“Since November 2010, James Biden has been the executive vice president of Hill International’s housing subsidiary despite little if any documented work history in residential construction,” Fox explains. “And if the company’s projections are accurate, both Hill and Biden are on the verge of a huge payday, beneficiaries, some analysts believe, of James Biden’s connections to the Obama Administration through his older brother.”

No surprise… is it? That’s the Obama Show… taxpayer gifts for everyone!

And just how would detail a 179,000 overhaul of the tax code… you’d be the first to turn it off for a more digestable sound bite, preferably 30 seconds or less. I don’t care how much he made… or makes… as long as the IRS and the Federal Election COmmission are happy and it was legal. See, TDL the reason we don’t have a budget, and 16.2 trillion, in part is because the Democratically controlled Senate won’t go on record making the cuts that will have to be made.. and there will be cuts. GOSH, maybe he knows he will have to work across the aisle? There will have to be compromises to make progress… the specifics will just let loose a torrent of lobbyists and special interests? You know one thing for sure… Obamacare is down the toilet!

Look at how stupid it sounds.. take out the may, might, should, could, element and you have no story. They hold a private equity position company, one of whose interests is voting machines and not a controlling or even substantial minority interest. I am going to bet you will find Democrats, labor, public pensions are all part owners of and investors in that equity house… what a surprise. Rag story. The Obama’s better not have investments in broccoli and spinach… it would be a vast conspiracy to wet their beaks with healthy school lunches… !! Much ado about…. nothing. Hmmm wanna talk about Obama’s debt and deficits? Rate of growth of GDP, 24 million still unemployed? How about his decline of middle income growth? Increases in helath insurance premiums, college inflation rising faster the even healthcare? Y’know his record!!

    Owen:

(Full disclaimer…a large amount of this information is not my own and borrowed from Geremiah Goulka’s website. It has been edited only so as to pertain directly to our converation ((changing the narrative’s voice)) and not for content. Jeremiah is a former Justice for the Justice Department under Bush II and also a former policy analyst for RAND. )

OK then…According to the respected Brennan Center for Justice at the New York University School of Law, 7% of the general voting public doesn’t have an adequate photo ID, but those figures rise precipitously when you hit certain groups: 15% of voting age citizens making less than $35,000 a year, 18% of Americans over 65, and a full quarter of African Americans.

It is astounding the high frequency of minorities, the poor, and the elderly lacking IDs. And then you take into account the real costs of getting an ID. Yes, the ID itself is free for the indigent (to comport with the 24th Amendment’s ban on poll taxes), but the documents one needs to get a photo ID aren’t, and the prices haven’t been reduced. Lost your naturalization certificate? That’ll be $345. Don’t have a birth certificate because you’re black and were born in the segregated south? You have to go to court.

Then, there’s how hard it can be to get an ID if you live in a state where DMV offices are far away or where they simply aren’t open very often. One can only hope that would-be voters have access to a car or adequate public transportation, and a boss who won’t mind if they take several hours off work to go get their ID, particularly if they live in, say, the third of Texas counties that have no ID-issuing offices at all.

Some officials are taking steps to make it even harder to get that ID. Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker, to take an example, signed a strict voter ID law and then made a move to start closing DMV offices in areas full of Democrats, while increasing office hours in areas full of Republicans — this in a state in which half of blacks and Hispanics are estimated to lack a driver’s license and a quarter of its DMV offices are open less than one day per month. (Sauk City’s is open a whopping four times a year.) Somehow I doubt that this is primarily about saving money.

One reason why voter ID laws are so politically successful is that they put Democrats in a weak position, forcing them to deny that in-person voter fraud exists or that it’s a big deal. Republican voters and media simply won’t buy that. It doesn’t matter how many times the evidence of the so-called threat has been shown to be trumped up. It’s a bad position to be in.

Providing examples of Republicans committing fraud themselves — whether in-person or, as in Massachusetts and Florida, with absentee ballots (a category curiously exempted from several of the Republican-inspired voter ID statutes) — won’t provide a wake-up call either. Most Republican voters will shrug it off by saying, essentially, “everybody’s doing it.”

If we can’t talk about race and the poor, and Republican voters insist that these laws really are about fraud, then maybe Democrats should consider a different tack and embrace them to the full — so long as they are redesigned to do no harm. IDs would have to be truly free and easy to obtain. The poor should not be charged for the required documentation. More DMVs should be opened, particularly in poor neighborhoods and rural areas, and all DMVs should have evening and weekend hours so that no one has to miss work to get an ID.

And finally, the issue should not take shape in the few months leading up to major elections. The laws, when addressed, need to be assembled and implemented well in advance of elections and registration deadlines so as to give sufficient time for the general electorate to be able to make the necessary adjustments.

Does this sound at all reasonable to you? Because bringing up the specter of voter fraud so close to an election with such obvious lack of commitment for a fair fix to the issue is most definitely one thing and one thing only: Vote Suppression.

Again the Democrats are whistling in the wind, setting up a strawman. You guys are losing it… it may sound good in the hollow drum you speak into… but here is why you lose. 38% of the population is registered Democrat. 32% is registered Repubicans… the rest are independents or other. Yooo hooo? You are on the losing side of the argument. The louder you shout the more marginal your cries become… the more suspect the rest of the country is about you true intentions on the sanctity of the vote….

71% Favor Requiring Voter ID at the Polls – Support remains high for requiring voters to prove their identity at the polls. A plurality of voters also thinks the more common situation with voter IDs is that people are prevented from voting who should be allowed to vote.

There are MULTIPLE accepted sources… including utility bills, sworn statements from a peace officer, A DMV opened late? Ha ha ha… those are union civil service workers.. they don’t do those kind of things.

NC had over 48 methods of ID… acceptable to the state. DD214’s, utility bills, welfare and SS benefits, … like the data says… you protest so much, people are starting to wonder just how corrupt is it? Why are democrats so insistant that valid voter ID is “disenfranchisement”… could it be they rely on a crooked vote? The certainly have the reputation … of voting early and often… a la Cook County. a Marvel Comic book of the voter roles.
