thanks to a link on the WSB, I was perusing the Vintage Seattle dot org website. That led me back to the Museum of History and Industry website (seattlehistory dot org) which has put about 4,000 historic photos on-line, thanks pimarily to support from PEMCO. Quite fascinating to search for ‘Alki’ for example and see how much has changed. Note: I haven’t quite figured out their catalog system; it helps to do separate searches with different key words (‘beach’ and ‘Alki’ will include some photos in one that should be in both).

My grandparents lived near MOHAI and I loved going there when we visited from Spokane; I will hate to see them move in 2 years, but the new location will be a much better facility.

So, what is your favorite photo and why (each photo has an Image Number, such as 1983.10.6599, about mid-way down in the description that can be put into the search box so we can all find a specific photo.)
