tasphilpMemberWe are hosting a community meeting today to discuss health care reform. This is one of a number of such meetings being held all over the country at the request of the Obama transition team.
The meeting is being held Sunday (12/28) from 3:00 – 5:00 pm at our home at 3024 38th Ave SW (98126). Please RSVP to tasandsarah@gmail.com if you plan to attend. All are welcome (no small kids please).
Thanks!
Tas and Sarah Philp

JoBParticipantTas and Sarah…
thanks for hosting this event… i hope that the grass roots input has a positive effect.
Due to the storm and to health issues, i won’t be able to attend.. but i would very much appreciate your reporting the consensus here.

transplantellaParticipantHow did you come to be hosting such a meeting? How will outcome of the discussion be relayed to the president? Is this some kind of formal national survey or an impromptu neighborhood brainstorming session?

and thanks so much Tas for the jump start; I am beyond thrilled to have my car back running after 15 days buried by snow

mom2sorenMemberI would have to echo transplantella’s post. Is this going to result in some kind of practical action, or is it just a neighborly conversation over beers? Are you going to try to solve the economic crisis, too? (just kidding). Regardless, it’s a nice gesture.

WSBKeymasterI went to this to cover it; writing the story in the morning, still slogging through trash and bus followups. This is part of a formal (and yet informal) effort initiated as part of the Obama transition. This is how they signed up:

(Bonus, there is a tangential West Seattle link here since HHS Secretary-designate Tom Daschle’s brother Steve Daschle runs Delridge-based Southwest Youth and Family Services
