JackieMemberDoes anyone have a recommendation for someone to come to my house 2-3 day to take care of our labrador while we are on vacation? She just needs the basics — food, out to go to the bathroom/short walk, love (she is a lab). She doesn’t do well being boarded or in doggy daycares like Lady Di. She gets nervous around the other dogs and I’d prefer to keep her home. I’d appreciate your suggestions. Thanks.

malarkeyMemberHi Jackie –
We have an awesome pet sitter who stays with our dogs/cat in our home overnight while we are out of town – Melanie with Sit Stay N Play Pet Care Services. She is definitely an animal person and our dogs fell in love with her instantly! Our cat was totally serene and purring when we returned also:)
She also offers day visits if you don’t want someone to stay overnight and we found her prices to be really reasonable.
You can reach her at sitstaynplay08@yahoo.com or (206) 650-5748. I know she fills up fast so if you know your dates you should call sooner than later.

addParticipantI can also recommend Rachel at Dog House Nanny (www.doghousenanny.com). She does live-in or drop-in. Very reliable and kind.

hammerheadParticipantOr for just about the same cost you can take your dog to grandma’s dog house in west seattle just around the corner for west crest dog park,
her name is besty #206-407-8100.

hopeyParticipantJanice at Butler Pet Services. She has a lab and her grandmother used to breed them. Janice will take your dog for walks while you are gone, and if you like she can take her to the dog park as well. I absolutely trust her with my dogs and can’t recommend her highly enough.

She does not advertise overnight care on her website, but just tell her that Ava & Belle referred you. :D

AnonymousInactiveI recommend Rene
mis the only person I trust to take care of my dogs if I can’t take care of my dogs myself. I have known Rene` for twenty-eight years, so I am probably biased, but bias is not always a bad thing when it comes to pet care.

AnonymousInactiveThat didn’t work, so here is my second try:
I recommend Rene Smiley:

JackieMemberThank you for all of the great recommendations. Yes, we are in West Seattle (I think someone asked about location) and appreciate all of the great folks to contact. Our pets are really members of the family aren’t they and so important to us. Thank you!
