valvashonParticipantCraving a burger, but I’ve got packing to do, so I want to bring it home. Where’s the best place to get a burger to go in West Seattle?
Thanks!

west seattle golferMember+1 for zippys.
Oh, and always add Bacon. Their bacon is the right combination of crispy, chewy, smoky and salty.

shihtzuParticipantI’ll say Zippy’s for to-go burgers too. Although I’ve been known to drive waaay out of my way to go get Kidd Valley.

WSBKeymasterTonight probably not the right night for it with Husky crowds down in The Junction but … had a great takeaway Elliott Bay burger during Summer Fest.

JanSParticipantI love Zippy’s…but Kidd Valley…great deep fried ‘shrooms – yum…

valvashonParticipantGotta love Kidd Valley, but it’s so far. Elliott Bay makes the best salmon sandwich. I went for Zippy’s and got the #11. A bit of a gut bomb, but it was just what the doctor ordered. Thanks everyone!

winegirl76MemberI forgot to mention, might not be a “to-go” type of burger, but Spring Hill has a $17 burger with fries that is well worth the splurge.
September 27, 2009 at 10:45 pm #678258
west seattle golferMember@winegirl76, what’s on that burger? a $10 bill? :)
September 28, 2009 at 12:57 am #678259
winegirl76MemberWell, I heard they triple grind the beef, they put bacon on it that is made in house and also, serve it up with beef fat fried-fries. The article in the paper said the chef-owner charges that price so he doesn’t have to flip burgers all night. Only had it once.
September 28, 2009 at 4:42 pm #678260
swimcatMemberI will not pay $17 for a burger and fries until the year 2040. With inflation, by then it might be a reasonable price.
September 28, 2009 at 5:02 pm #678261
JanSParticipantyes…originally the burger price at Springhill was about 9 bucks…and everyone was ordering it, first, because it was the cheapest entree on the menu, and second, because it was so good. Mark Fuller didn’t want to be known as a burger joint, etc. so he upped the price to 17 bucks. I’m with you, m, would never pay that price no matter how good it is.

johnnyblegsMemberJak’s happy hour burger. Same as the non-happy hour burger but half the price! Only $5 and it’s delicious!
September 29, 2009 at 12:02 am #678263
JanSParticipantjohnnyblegs…add a buck for bacon :)
September 29, 2009 at 12:14 am #678264
johnnyblegsMemberShoot! I forgot about that. Ok…only $6 and it dang better be The Swinery bacon!
