inactiveMemberYeah, I even thought West Seattle was cool BEFORE I knew all this stuff. :) I had to google the name. It was familiar but I wasn’t sure….NOW I remember who she is. And, wow, that IS definitely cool! What a cool celebrity sighting! Thanks for sharing.

ShibaguyzMemberOkay… so it wasn’t the REAL Bettie Page or the real Wolverine from X-Men. But she definitely had the look going and he was all decked out in the jacket, hair and sideburns.
It’s more a comment about the types of people we run into every day here in West Seattle. Totally fun, cool people that we end up just sitting and talking to out of the blue or (almost) sightings of celeb look alikes.
We just love this place…

rs261Memberif its the guy I think it is, that guy rides the bus with me all the time, and is blind, yup really! I love his haircut, and was a huge fan of the comics for more then 20 years, I havent ever said anything to him though, although I often think about it….

I just appear stunningly gullible sometimes. But, thanks for fessin’ up. I was wonderin’ HOW the heck you recognized her? She would definitely be an oldster.
If you see your celebrity look alike again, maybe you should tell her about the Burlesque contests happening down at the Skylark. Hard to say without seeing someone, but sounds like she might be a fit, eh? And, I certainly am not meaning anything derogatory toward the Bettie Page-esque woman when I say that. After all, Gypsy Rose Lee, a High Priestess of Burlesque was from West Seattle. I heard that here too – it’s gotta’ be true! Right? ;) ;)

charlabobParticipantAnd I was just impressed because you could recognize ANYONE — but you’re right — it’s part of the overall coolness of WS in particular and Seattle in general.
Best of all, the hipsters, the geeks, and the rest of us (even geezers) all get along. I never have to worry about whether I’m cool enough to say hi to someone who’s obviously cool. :-)
For that, I can tolerate the culture of nice AND the hopelessly polite and tentative drivers.
