JoBParticipantand this is about the meanest thing i have ever heard you utter kootch…
“No miws they weren’t. Guess again. If you have the skills and education to be part of a rising middle class … you will participate in the Romney Renaissance. “
it really is unfortunate that you are totally unable to equate skills, education and productivity with anything other than the production of money…
because money is all Romney has ever made.
doesn’t it worry you that he had made all of that money by taking over companies, reducing their work forces to make them appear more profitable and selling them off the next highest bidder to capitalize his profits?
You are the one who keeps telling us that America should be run like a business.
If we run America like one of Romney’s success stories we won’t have to worry about a trade deficit with China. They will own us.
but then that’s the goal.. world ownership by a few mulitnational corporations… and a very very limited middle class.
i don’t know how to tell you this kootch..
but your tunnel vision pretty much disqualifies you for a position in that elect few… and if you have passed it on to your kids it disqualifies them too.
Those who have the skills, education and flexibility to create an alternate economy are those who are going to thrive.
Take a look around you in the community Kootch and ask yourself just who it is that is doing well here… who is hiring. With a few exceptions, it isn’t the multinationals.

kootchmanMemberBut you aren’t creating a new economy… you are destroying the current one. Go for making a new economy. Create one. Others have done it. You are demanding others fund your vision. That’s coercion not creation.
“Those who have the skills, education and flexibility to create an alternate economy are those who are going to thrive.”
Go for it… hope the regulations don’t get in your way and you are left with enough capital to make it happen. Don’t forget, you have to declare “bartering” and pay taxes on that.
And no, it doesn’t bother me one bit. Romney knows currency manipulation and the “true” cost of it. Obama is dependent on it, it’s 40% of his spending spree. Bain is a relatively minor offshore transactor … sad to say you don’t know his record.. he created jobs. That’s what capitalists do. They put poor performing assets into performing assets… and with great skill.

kootchmanMemberbut then that’s the goal.. world ownership by a few mulitnational corporations… and a very very limited middle class.
Does that even make sense to you? In fact, on a world wide basis, the middle class is larger they ever in all of recorded history. Remember the Kumbaya of the 60’s? World peace, world prosperity, and just as the vision is made manifest…. oops… what we meant was all those things..until the “ideal” met the reality? The world middle class is growing…. Demand for all goods and services is rising worldwide… truth be told, where government couldn’t or wouldn’t raise the world living standards… the multinationals have. Ya gotta have a middle class to sell stuff to. By 2040 Asia will have 60% of the middle class… not bad when Asia and middle class didn’t exist even during the colonial overlord period. Capitalism did that. Raised living standards for the entire globe.

redblackParticipantHere is a simple fact.. the upper 10 per cent pay more of the tax burden now than they ever have. As a percentage of income, the middle class has been catered to the most with the largest decrease in their tax liability as a percentage of their income. Those are the facts
of course. the top 10%’s share of the pie has grown while the middle and lower classes’ shares have shrunk. QED, my good man.

JoBParticipantkootch..
Psst..
” Demand for all goods and services is rising worldwide… truth be told, where government couldn’t or wouldn’t raise the world living standards… the multinationals have. Ya gotta have a middle class to sell stuff to. By 2040 Asia will have 60% of the middle class…”
this would be really cool except for two itty bitty things
American resources are fueling that growth in tax breaks and import advantages for companies that do business overseas
and that growth is coming at the expense of the American middle class

JoBParticipantkootch
isn’t it funny..
i mention alternative economy
and you think bartering
i think small companies building a superior local product
they are actually hiring
real jobs.. real pay..
for producing something
yeah.. i know.. it’s nothing new.
that’s the business America used to be in.
if it still was, we wouldn’t have this problem
would we?

kootchmanMemberPerfect… when they make something I want or need and at a price point I am willing to pay… the question to ask is why is new business formation at its lowest point since 1923? It’s that drained swamp in the Potomac basin. Damn,.. wouldn’t it be cool if we were competitive with the rest of the world and we could bring a couple trillion into the lending stream? Y;know to support that new economy…

redblackParticipantexcuse my audacity, perfesser kootch, but your link does not refute my assertion that the middle and lower classes’ share of national income and wealth is shrinking, and has been since the 1970’s.
and stopping the graph at $1 million is pretty low-rent, too.
that graph should extend about 3 feet past the right edge of your monitor.

JoBParticipantkootch..
“when they make something I want or need and at a price point I am willing to pay”
i happen to know that your local coffee shop makes something you want at a price you are willing to pay.
they are a small local shop that invests heavily in their community and does their best to source locally.

JoBParticipantkootch..
LOL.. i have to agree with Redblack on that graph you sourced..
“and stopping the graph at $1 million is pretty low-rent, too.

smooth move there…
did you not take time for analysis
or did you think it would slide because we wouldn’t?
