Noticed a power ‘blip’? Truck crash in west South Park takes down wires

Thanks for the tip about a power “blip” around quarter till 2 noticed by some in West Seattle. SFD is handling a situation in the 8100 block of Occidental Avenue S. in west South Park [vicinity map], reported as a flipped/sideways truck that took down power lines and might also have sparked a brush fire. It hasn’t led to a major outage, according to the City Light map, but the live wires have required the area to be blocked off.

Oh, so that’s what that was. I thought maybe construction behind me may have done it. Good to know.

Was affected at the junction. It knocked out my quantum fiber. If anyone else had theirs break I fixed it by unplugging the NTD for 5 minutes. Just resetting it and turning off for 1 minute wasn’t enough.

My power went off and then back on a moment later in the Admiral area.

Thank You WSB as that explains why some appliances clocks were flashing and my corded clock was off by one hour and forty minutes.

Thanks for the story. I was wondering what happened. I was inside LA Fitness when the power went out for a second.

The traffic light at Charlestown & California switched to flashing red lights for a minute then back to normal.

Sorry, comment time is over.
