WEST SEATTLE SCENE: Troll-ing for opposition to Greenland takeover

A reader sent that photo of Lincoln Park‘s troll Bruun Idun with a small sign of opposition to the Trump Administration’s vow to take over Greenland. You might recall that the troll was installed at the park 2 1/2 years ago by artist Thomas Dambo, who’s from Denmark, the country that governs Greenland as an autonomous territory. The reader tells us the signmaker put similar signs at some of the other Dambo trolls around the area

MAGA = Make America Go Away. Seen on a sign in Greenland or Denmark on TV news. I like it.

The majority of Greenlanders would prefer American citizenship over Danish citizenship.  Anti-Trump activists from America should not be allowed to assign their own opinions to the people of Greenland.

Thank you for sharing that poll. It is clear from it that the vast majority of Greenlanders have no interest or desire to become part of the United States, no matter how much Trump claims that “we need” the island nation. The future of Greenland should be decided by its people (they aren’t exactly keen on being part of Denmark either), and their decision should be respected.

Kind of surprised his post is still here. I’d be interested to see your sources as everything I’ve seen reported in the news is that they have zero interest.

Sorry, comment time is over.
