READER REPORT: West Seattle High School students’ gifts for ailing kids

Thanks to Brooke for the photo and report about students’ generosity:

Saturday we dropped off about 25 shopping bags full of new games and toys collected by West Seattle High School students, benefiting Seattle Children’s Hospital. (Pictured: Adam Gosztola, Junior and Student Council member)

Adam is a gem of a human. Proud of all WSHS students involved.

My son was in the hospital for a long stay last year. The toys they provided him were such a welcome distraction. Acts of kindness like this are amazingly appreciated.  Thank you!

When life gets you down and you read yet another article about a stolen Hyundai or a new graffiti attack or local kids harassing shopkeepers please remember this post.  Not everyone is an a-hole.  twenty-five shopping bags of toys were donated by MANY generous and thoughtful people!  These are people from the “next generation” that are often accused of being lazy or unreliable with an inability to put down their phones.  There are a lot of great and kind people in the world.  We just tend to focus on the ones that aren’t.  Hoping all our West Seattle neighbors have a wonderful holiday break and a happy new year!
