WEST SEATTLE HALLOWEEN: The ghost of Bob Ross

Thanks to Jerry Simmons for contributing tonight’s featured Halloween-decorations photo. Somewhere in West Seattle, the spirit of the soothing-voiced TV painter Bob Ross is haunting a garage door! (Got a display to suggest, yours or someone else’s? We’ll be featuring at least one nightly through Halloween. westseattleblog@gmail.com is the best way to let us know – and thanks to everyone who’s already sent suggestions!)

I’ve walked by this a dozen times and didn’t make the connection to Bob Ross.  I feel stupid.   Did you hear his very first painting on his first episode is estimated to fetch nearly $10 million at auction?

Don’t feel stupid! He’s been dead 28 years. Probably a sizable share of people who are looking at the headline and thinking “who?”

That is a beautiful spooky homage to a legend, well done West Seattle-ite! Everyone can take a lesson or two from Bob.

I didn’t include the address because the owner of this display may not want it to be public on a larger scale and other reasons. After posting on social media it appears the the owner isn’t concerned. Corner of 42nd Ave Sw and SW Hudson St. Hudson is a dead end street so please respect the residents if traveling through the dead end and the alleys, thanks!

What a great pic from Jerry. His pics are always good. Glad to see a location, so others can enjoy. Love seeing everybody’s Halloween displays. It makes the neighborhood so much fun.

Sorry, comment time is over.
