YOU CAN HELP: Weekly community cleanups at Alki

Mandi is organizing weekly post-weekend community cleanups at Alki Beach and invites you to join her if you can: 9 am every Monday morning. Anyone interested in helping can meet her at Alki Beach Bathhouse (60th/Alki). Questions? Email Mandi at mandikhall@gmail.com.

P.S. Bring your own supplies (bag, grabber) if you can!

There’s also a group of neighbors who do cleanups the first Sat of every month I think. They provide buckets on the steps of the apartments between 56th and 57th. Also, kudos to the gentleman I saw cleaning up the tennis courts by Whale Tail park this morning. My Alki neighbors are the best!

Yes! I was just cleaning up yesterday evening. Moving the fire trash, so many bottle caps, glass, firework trash, and enough plastic to stuff a work bucket with! I also found 4 old rusty coat hangers buried in the sand with just their little poker ends sticking up (ya, no thanks ) a bbq brush, a styrofoam makeshift yoga block? It’s more fun and better at public shaming in a group! Count me in!

We need to clean up the streets in the area, so much broken glass and garbage.

Thank you for your service I will try and make it down with my broom and stand up dustpan to go after what I only can imagine from past clean ups is ALOT of cigarette butts.
