Origins Recreational: Welcome, new West Seattle Blog sponsor

The first recreational cannabis store to open in West Seattle, Origins Recreational, is now in its new Junction location, and has just joined the WSB sponsor team. Here’s what they would like you to know about their business:

0rigins1

Origins Recreational is unique in that we pride ourselves on selecting top-quality products from farms who share the same passion and values in cannabis. Origins has spent significant time and resources in creating what we believe to be the first scientific approach to recommending the correct products based on the cannabinoid and terpene profiles. We provide consumers a loyal brand they can be confident in consuming. Origins Recreational pulled away from the pack of cannabis retailers by establishing the Origins Certifiedâ„¢ seal, providing buyers confidence in tested products. All products containing the Origins Certified seal have undergone phenotype terpene testing and pesticide screening. Cultivating a strong relationship with partnered gardens, Origins works with each grower individually to provide the highest quality product, assuring responsible, sustainable farming practices were used to grow it.

Located in West Seattle, our brand is all about the Pacific Northwest and showcasing the natural beauty it offers. Origins‘ local roots trace back to Better Day Gardens, a medical dispensary founded in 2011, so it is a true West Seattle original. For West Seattle locals, they no longer have to go far to purchase their flower, concentrates or edibles.

Origins clients mostly comment on our clean, comfortable environment, superior selection of artisan gardens, and educated cannabis guides. We have heard how excited West Seattle residents are that we made our move into the area. We have worked feverishly to build trust with the community and our patrons. Customers can trust that Origins has taken the extra steps to ensure they are getting the best quality and safest product at the best value.  We believe this is why new customers seek us and will return.

Origins Recreational is at 4800 40th SW, with ample parking behind the store. Hours are Monday through Saturday from 9 am to 11:30 pm. and Sunday from 9 am to 8 pm. Phone: 206-922-3954. Origins will be open Thanksgiving Day (November 24th), 10 am-5 pm.

We thank Origins Recreational for sponsoring independent, community-collaborative neighborhood news via WSB; find our current sponsor team listed in directory format here, and find info on joining the team by going here.

We are excited to have you in the neighborhood.  I have visited the new shop a few times and continue to be  impressed with how clean and classy the shop is and how well trained and friendly the staff are.    I used to drive to SODO now I don’t have to.  Stay true to West Seattle.

Yet another  pot shop in Seattle with an extremely boring, vanilla, generic name.  Aren’t stoners always telling us how creative and clever pot makes you? So far the only pot shops I’ve seen that have witty names are Green Anne and Hashtag.   Even hair salons are better named with their word puns (Hair’s To You, Shear Elegance, etc).

Come on, stoners, you can do better!

If you read their message, and/or their website, they have a reason for the name. West Seattle has never been much for cutesy, pun-ny names in any line of business that I can recall … and none of the ones you mention are here. Among WS biz names, I think Rick the Psychic Barber probably has the most memorable. Not cutesy, but memorable. – TR

Herban Legends is a good name. I want pot shops to be the new pho joint in terms of punny names.

If you need witty, product inventory labels could please.

I think that being situated within striking distance of Bakery Nouveau should nullify any further requirements.

Not everyone who uses cannabis is a “stoner.”

      Puns are tired and tacky.

It is time for cannabis stores to start acting like legitimate businesses.  I applaud Origins for being one of the only cannabis companies not trying to make a play on pot or marijuana in their name.  It is better for the community and the long term viability of the industry. They appear to actually be taking their brand seriously.

This couldn’t be more different than the abandoned carwash where we bought weed in high school.  Fancy!

I agree with TR, the name Psychic Barber is nonpareil!  Seattle has an embarrassment of riches when it comes to choices for purchasing  non-medicinal cannibis.  ‘Origins’ proximity to WholeFoods and its emphasis on locally sourced MaryJane shows it is  well situated.  And like Seaweed said:  striking distance to Bakery Nouveau.  Yes, I read the catalogue of product; it’s hilarious.  No I don’t consume, but my out of town guests are going to love West Seattle even more.

So much better than having to sit at that guy’s house for an hour while he plays Tekken.

All I can say is finally someone who knows cannabis. Some neighbors were a little skeptical of this type of business coming in, but we appreciate your approachable establishment. I’ve passed a few of your staff members even picking up trash around the streets.

    Welcome to WS

Is this in the former Bella Mente day care building?

    • WSB November 24, 2016 (12:03 am)

Yes, it is. The entrance is on Edmunds between Fauntleroy and 40th.

Finally a place to buy Mister Fussy something he’ll like.

Just stopped by Origins.  It was my first time visiting and they appear to be the only cannabis store open on Thanksgiving.  I’m spending thanksgiving alone this year and it was awesome the Origins staff  made me feel like family.  I even picked up an awesome t shirt and some yummy chocolate.  Thank you Origins.

This place is kind of expensive. It’s in a good location though and they have a nice selection of top shelf merchandise.

We went there yesterday for the first time ever in any cannabis store.  It is beautiful inside, the staff are very helpful, the selection is “mind-numbing” LOL. Our visit certainly made this a Thanksgiving to remember!

Remember the YWCA in that building?

Sorry, comment time is over.
