TRAFFIC/TRANSIT TODAY: Tuesday updates & alerts

(SDOT MAP with travel times/video links; is the ‘low bridge’ closed? LOOK HERE)

(Click any view for a close-up; more cameras on the WSB Traffic page)

6:59 AM: No incidents in/from West Seattle so far.

7:39 AM: Still relatively quiet. Took a spin around the live video cameras – the eastbound low bridge looks a little more sluggish than usual.

8:17 AM: First problem of the morning. Thanks to Steve for the tip – a collision between a Microsoft Connector bus and a car. An SDOT camera shows them pulled over just past the 99 exit on the eastbound bridge. No SFD callout for this, so apparently no injuries.

8:55 AM: Not resolved yet – now the camera shows a second Connector bus pulled up alongside the one on the shoulder, and an SPD car at the scene:

8:58 AM: And both buses have left, leaving the car and an SPD motorcycle on the shoulder, for now.

Whenever I see a Microsoft Connector shuttle pulled over on the side of the road I always assume it’s because they need to update their drivers.

      Baaahahaha.

It actually appears to be a full system crash which still could be driver related.

It takes a long time to close all those windows and restart.

Whenever I see a bus and car in an accident in this area, I wonder if the car cut actoss the bus lane and hit the bus. No joke. SPD could write tickets all day long for bus lane violations.

@pops I was on the Connector bus this morning and that is EXACTLY what happened.

    • Pops October 11, 2016 (11:36 am)

I knew it!!! :) hope you and the passengers are ok Erin. Hope the car driver got a ticket!

Is it legal for Microsoft’s private bus service to use public transit’s bus lane?

    • PSPS October 11, 2016 (3:28 pm)

No, it isn’t Neither are school buses or tour buses.

  • sc October 11, 2016 (10:46 am)

I’m guessing more legal then the cars that are in the bus lane!

Sorry, comment time is over.
