SURVEY: Metro is asking you to join in an international effort

In case you didn’t already get this via the Metro alert system:

As part of an independent international survey effort by transit agencies serving 11 cities around the world, Metro is inviting customers to tell us their thoughts about the bus service we provide.

The survey is available in English and Spanish. The deadline for submitting it is May 10, 2015.

The 11 transit agencies will compare the results of their surveys in order to learn from one another and work toward providing even better service.

Terrible bus service, terrible bus rates, terrible across the board between Community Transit and Metro.
It’s cheaper to drive and insure a large gas guzzler than take the bus service. That should tell one much about how bad things are.
On top of this, CT runs routes that are not convenient for commuters in general, runs hourly service on Saturdays and no service on Sundays.
Commuting from Central Seattle to Bellevue in the early morning hours? Get ready to hop a bus through downtown and up to the U District to catch I-520 across rather than the logical option of going across I-90.
As I said, terrible bus service, needs massive improvements and needs responsible legislators to implement those changes rather than the ‘rudderless idiots’ from both (but especially Republicans) we have now.

The average cost of owning a car is between $5,000-$8,000 per year, depending on what studies you look at. The cost of a peak one-zone bus pas for a year is less than $1,2000.
    .
So, no, it isn’t cheaper to drive than to take the bus. You could even throw in some use of Car2Go, Zipcar, Uber, Lyft, or a rental or two, and still save money… which you could put towards housing or food instead.

I agree with Michael Huffman, as far as the “terrible”‘s go. Specifically Metro. Terrible across the board. Just horrible.

Completely disagree with you two. Have been taking Metro for 30+ plus years since I was a kid. My mom never learned to drive. I think our bus service is great! It’s definitely gotten better since I was a kid too.

Oh, and for the two who think the service is “terrible”, “horrible”,etc…take the survey so they know what you would do to make it better.

Sorry, comment time is over.
