Another West Seattle weekend traffic alert: City Light work

Here’s what the “No Parking” signs along Fauntleroy between Brandon and Graham are for – Seattle City Light will be out tomorrow, 7 am-8 pm, working on overhead lines along four blocks. It’s part of a system upgrade for an area that’s been operating on an old, low-capacity system, according to SCL – full details on the work and upgrades, here.

I wish SCL would fix the non-working street lights near the intersection of Delridge Way and Trenton. They were “broken” during the wrap-up on Phase 1, and have not been working since. ETA to fix is May 27. I do not understand why this is not a higher priority. The northbound bus stop there is now in the dark and unsafe.

wondering if this is what the “no parking” signs are also on my street, Hinds, @Belvidere; I saw a big yellow City Light truck with crane pull up and sit briefly a few days ago, then noticed the no parking signs shortly after; “no parking 4/29 and 4/30, 7am to 8pm”, but I don’t see it listed on this city light page; sure wish they would put info on the no parking signs as to what it is for, or at least a # to call to find out

They sure left a mess of old wire casings all along the way. I filled up a 5 gallon bucket with the old casings they had left in front of my house. Maybe they were coming back to clean it up?

Ray, Seattle City Light staff are working on a fix for the streetlights on Delridge Way. Crews have determined that the problem is related to the power supply for the lights. That is a more complicated repair than replacing burned out lamps, which is the reason for the longer estimate for getting the work finished.
We understand the importance of street lighting and appreciate your patience while we work to get these lights back in service.
