Followup: Liberty Bell Printing shuts its storefront, moves online

After 38 years, Liberty Bell Printing is closed in The Junction, though the business itself will continue on. As first reported here two weeks ago, Liberty Bell is only closing its retail storefront, but it’s a momentous occasion just the same, since it’s one of the oldest businesses in The Junction. Christopher Boffoli was there for WSB when Michael Hoffman, who’s owned it for a decade, closed the doors tonight one last time. Michael will continue offering printing and design services without a storefront, via libertybellprinting.com.

Thanks to Christopher for doing a great job on putting this piece together… and heartfelt thanks to Michael for not only all the work he’s done with the print shop and in the community… but for closing this chapter with such positive grace.

I’m sure the evolution of Liberty Bell Printing & Graphics will be a good continuance for Michael and all those he does work for… but his presence and store front will be greatly missed in the Junction.

Thanks Michael, every time I used LBP you folks were almost embarrassingly helpful, especially last time when I dropped in with a poorly formatted resume.
    Here’s to your continued success.

Just used them for a Christmas present for my hubby. They were all absolutely awesome at essentially designing the whole thing for me as I had no idea what I was doing…I’ll be using them again very soon! Merry Christmas!

Thanks for this update and vid, WSB and Christopher.

    .

As I mentioned in the original closure story, my Dad had a press like the Antique one in Liberty Bell’s front window, in the basement of our West Seattle home in the ’60’s. I really enjoyed the glimpse of the press in operation, toward the end of the vid.

Best of luck to Michael, and Liberty Bell, in this new incarnation of the business!

Wow! I’m so sorry to see you leave! But, I know…”things” change. And another piece of home becomes history… Thank you all for all you’ve done for all of us.

I’ll miss walking in, but I’m happy the business is still going on.

1/05/2011 – Just placed a little order with Michael over the phone (and via email) and I’m telling you it’s still the same great service! Don’t be shy about using this neighborhood company just because you can’t see them on California Avenue. They are still rockin’ and rollin’. Thanks Michael!

Sorry, comment time is over.
