Reminder: West Seattle Golf Course driving-range meeting

As previously reported here, a meeting is set for next Wednesday (August 4th) for everyone interested in the driving range that’s in the works for the West Seattle Golf Course. We’re mentioning it again because the city just sent an official reminder this afternoon – read on:

Seattle Parks and Recreation will host a public meeting on Wednesday, August 4, 2010 from 7 – 8:30 p.m. at the West Seattle Golf Course, 4470 35th Ave SW. for the development of a driving range at West Seattle Golf Club. This is an opportunity for the community to learn about the project and meet the design team.

The West Seattle Golf Driving Range is the first Golf Master Plan element to be constructed. Last year, Seattle residents participated in developing the Golf Master Plan at a series of meetings. The plan can be found at http://seattle.gov/parks/projects/docs.htm#plans.

Parks hired R.W. Thorpe & Associates as the lead consultant for the project with OB Sports team members as key sub consultants. Funding for this project is provided by 2010 General Obligation Bonds.
